There is some accumulation with snow showers, and they fall from convective or cumuliform clouds.

When the temperature is slightly warmer than 0°C, the snowflakes will melt around the edges and stick together to become big, heavy flakes. ... If the temperature is at freezing point or below, the snow will stick. Any warmer and it will melt.
